Description

Screwloc spiked plugs are "duo" to provide secure contact with standard and wide spiked terminals.

The new Forte banana plug is designed to maximize contact area within the wide tolerance range encountered in 4mm amplifier and speaker jacks. Some can be quite tight, while others can be loose, so the Forte spring loaded blade is designed to fit smaller and larger sockets with equal insertion force. This means that the contact area is maximized and the connection remains uniformly strong.

Both banana plugs and paddles are made of brass, which has about twice the resistance of copper. For this reason, the plug is designed so that its cross-section is at least twice the cross-section of the cable to which it is connected, effectively canceling out the additional resistance of the plug material. QED then coats the connector with high purity gold that has a resistivity almost as low as copper, but more importantly does not oxidize in air.
