Inheriting many of the sound quality characteristics of premium CD player components, the CD-S303 CD player delivers sound that will satisfy dedicated music lovers. In addition to CDs, it also enables high-quality playback of music files stored on USB memory devices via the USB port on the front panel.

Purely direct
The CD-S303 offers Pure Direct, the same popular feature included in Yamaha amplifiers and receivers. Pressing a button on the front panel or on the remote control turns off the digital audio output and turns off the display. This achieves the lowest possible interference and, therefore, the highest sound quality of the analog audio output.

Extremely sophisticated assembly and layout
Yamaha technicians devoted a lot of time and effort to designing the entire internal layout of parts and printed circuit boards, a factor that significantly affects sound quality. As a result, the power supplies for the motor drive, display and USB parts, as well as the digital and analog parts are individually isolated, eliminating electromagnetic interference between them. To achieve the ideal weight balance for stable performance, the drive mechanism is located in the center of the unit.

Short signal paths
A very logical and symmetrical internal arrangement of parts and circuit boards is designed so that the signal paths on each board are as short as possible. This dedicated design also keeps the paths between sections straight and short, reducing the chance of signal loss or interference, something not easily achieved.

Well matched high quality parts
Every single element in a CD player affects the sound quality, which is why Yamaha puts a lot of effort into selecting and matching parts and materials. A high-quality acoustic capacitor, a new low-noise, high-bandwidth operational amplifier, and the use of damping materials under the transformer and around the signal cables are just a few examples of Yamaha's commitment to excellent sound quality. In short, the CD-S303's internal sophistication is at a level generally found on much more expensive models.

High performance D/A converter
Using a 192kHz/24-bit DAC, the high-performance D/A conversion system takes full advantage of the digital technology that Yamaha has perfected over many years, ensuring excellent conversion accuracy, S/N ratio and dynamic range.

Floating mechanism of the laser lifter
The laser receiver is isolated on the floating mechanism so that its delicate operation cannot be affected by vibrations.

Intelligent digital servo
Conventional servo tracking circuits cannot completely overcome errors caused by warped disc, dust and other defects. This system uses a reliable DSP (Digital Signal Processor), exclusive to CDs, to track signals, adjust tracking and focus, as well as spindle motor speed, to compensate for any issues.

Enjoy your MP3, WMA, LPCM, AAC and FLAC music
The USB port on the front panel gives you an easy way to enjoy high-quality audio from MP3, WMA, LPCM, AAC or FLAC digital music files stored on USB memory devices. You can also play files recorded on CD-R/RW discs.

CD text display in 3 modes
Information about the currently playing CD is displayed on the CD player screen. The 3-way CD text display shows the CD title, artist name and track title.

Programmed playback (audio CDs only)
It's very easy to program the songs you want to hear in any order. You can delete the program at any time with one touch.
