Calling on the 'golden age' of Hi-Fi, the GT-5000 draws inspiration from Yamaha's original 'Gigantic and Tremendous' series of turntables - characterized by heavy wooden cases and a plate that served to dampen vibrations and provide enhanced performance.

The flagship GT-5000 features a short, straight arm designed to provide superior stiffness as well as balance of weight and mechanics resulting in improved tracking.

A rigid mechanism with simple construction means there is no need for an internal counterweight.

Custom belt drive for stabilizer plate
The GT-5000's custom belt drive mechanism minimizes the impact of motor cogging and eliminates feedback control for an open and smooth sound.

The original GT concept used the concept of internal mass to counteract feedback control. This is upgraded with the GT-5000 which negates the feedback control via the belt drive.
