With more than 130 years of experience, Yamaha has grown into a leading manufacturer of HiFi equipment. Crafted with skill and market-leading innovation, the M-5000 serves as the epitome of high-quality audio reproduction.

200 W + 200 W (4 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.07% THD, 2-channel drive)
100 W + 100 W (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.07% THD, 2-channel drive)
Carefully designed, balanced signal transmission
Floating and balanced amp layout for improved controllability
Perfectly symmetrical design for left and right channel isolation
Low impedance design with shortened signal and power paths
The improved construction provides superior rigidity
Powerful toroid core power transformer

Floating and balanced power amplifier with MOSFETs
Unlike conventional power amplifier designs where the supply is fed through the power transistor and the negative polarity is connected to ground, the M-5000's power supply is connected directly to each positive and negative side of the output stage.

Completely isolating the entire power amplifier circuit from ground removes any unwanted influence of small voltage fluctuations or ground noise.

The design also creates an ideal symmetrical arrangement for using MOSFET amplifiers, improving the driving characteristics of low-impedance speakers.

Solid frame structure with mechanical grounding concept
The M-5000 has been designed from the ground up to maximize stiffness - reducing unwanted vibrations for optimal sonic performance.

Furthermore, the application of the mechanical grounding concept by attaching the power transformer, block capacitor and cooler directly to the rigid aerodynamic structure with screws ensures their complete support and eliminates the influence of vibrations.

Transformer with massive toroidal core and low impedance design
Delivering high-fidelity performance, a massive toroidal transformer is used with a 3mm thick pure brass base that suppresses unwanted vibrations.

In addition, the power transformer does not affect the surrounding audio circuits due to the lower leakage current.

Extruded copper wiring from the winding core contributes to the low impedance design greatly reducing power loss compared to conventional designs.

Thick wires and screw connections for the power supply
Thick wires and screw connections contribute to the M-5000's low-impedance design - minimizing the energy loss that would otherwise typically occur in conventional connections and wire assemblies.

The use of screws and brass terminals directly on the block capacitors as opposed to soldering promotes a strong, low impedance connection.
